this cup, a container that holds: The coffee I had poured into it. this table. potentially could hold anything many kinds of tools. tools for breakfast; tools for crafts; tools for composing this poem; tools for sacred arts, if need be. how did we come to call: four thick sticks attached to a wide flat wooden surface? a table? how much better it is to sit by myself, like the solitary seagull as it stands, in it's stillness, on the sands. let me sit here with myself. She's the girl of your dreams To your specifications. Face of an angel and her body too. No emotional issues to get into. She won't tear you down. No drama in the things she says ...or doesn't say. She's an innocent lover. In you she'll be a believer. she's a waiter, waiting for you     whenever you're gone. She's so beautiful, She's so pretty, so cute. She has nothing to say about others About gossiping she's mute. And she'll stand up to you with compassion. At the drop of her hat she'll stand for you. Just step inside her world. Look at the city streets from her view. See the foolishness of the Crowd. She's vulnerable to being pushed about. She'll always love you. She'll never shout. She's shy. A homebody. She'll always be there for you. She'll watch and study. Everyone that passes by her. But put her on a stage. She'll enjoy showing what you've given her. And never looks like she's aged.

What do you say love is When you clean up after, only yourself ? Where's there any merit collected? In only doing what's expected. You're a better person For having done for others. You're a good person For having gone beyond your own hype For fulfilling only your own responsibilities. Without any gripe. What do you say love is When you've degraded her With your loud words, And chased her down the hall? Where's there any kindness When you've tossed her dinner Onto the wall? How are you selfless In never doing for others even if they won't do for you? Your love is for others Not for yourself, exclusively. Your love is for others They may give it back to you.
