Robyn

A Love Letter (or poem) To...

 My Dear Robyn,

Oh Honey Bird!
We met where the sane were lame.
It was very plain, the mad were well.
You gave me your attention, I was so glad.
At that moment I knew.
The future was made for me and you.

Oh Honey Bird!
You took me home to warm your bed.
Instead, that was a time I'd been a fool.
After all my years, it was then
I thought to obey the rules.

My past couldn't last, yet
For my son's sake I fit the cast.
It was too late to realize our fate.
You left in search of that Rocky Mountain  High.
I was left alone, while you made yourself a new home.
I  know it was me who said, "good bye".

Oh Honey Bird
I still love you, my blonde haired Robyn.
Let's build a nest for the rest
Of our lives
We can still fly together
In all kinds of weather.
